Last Thursday, June 16th, our elementary children were very lucky to be able to experience a fishing trip at the beautiful Lake Lehow just outside of Waterton Canyon! Mrs. Jerrie McKee and a wonderful group of volunteers from the Colorado Division of Wildlife helped to make this trip amazing for our children. They taught them about wildlife safety and respect, different Colorado fish species, and how to cast and fish. After the educational stations, the children were able to walk down to the lake and cast away! Each and everyone of children caught at least one fish! The smiles seemed to be contagious last Thursday from the volunteers to the children to the teachers and back around. It was a beautiful and fun-filled day for all! Thank you again to all of our amazing volunteers from the Colorado Division of Wildlife!
