That’s A Wrap!

Today marks the end of our summer session here at the Willows Child Learning Centers. Pre-school, Pre-kindergarten, Kindergarten and Elementary children have enjoyed so many fun activities during these last few months. Kindergarten students enjoyed visits to Lookout Mountain, the Morrison Museum, Chatfield Arboretum and a favorite, Dairy Queen! The elementary children spent the summer hiking the beautiful mountains of Colorado, learning about the Gold Rush and visiting The Molly Brown House, and enjoying some culture at the Central City Opera. The highlight, however, of the Elementary Summer program was the Camping Trip! There is nothing like seeing a moose at dusk, enjoying breakfast with elk, or learning how to fish; and being with your best friends makes it all the better!

Pre-school and pre-kindergarten children worked hard on their swimming skills all summer long and were so excited to show them to their parents during parent visitation days. In addition to swimming, pre-school and pre-kindergarten children continued to learn about their numbers, shapes and letters throughout the summer while also discussing fascinating topics such as bugs and dinosaurs!

Children attending school for our Fall session eagerly toured their new classrooms today in anticipation of starting classes on Monday, August 29. Teachers around the Willows Child Learning Centers are also eager for the first day of school. There is a lot of cleaning and planning to do next week, but I can guarantee you that the first of school for a Willows teacher is one of the best days of the year! Until next time, enjoy the last few days of summer!
