Our own swimming pools have been very busy this summer with kids improving their strokes as well as just having fun fun playing during this very hot summer. Who knows, there could be another Olympic record holder in the making. All of our pre-school, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and summer elementary students receive a swim lesson everyday in our own heated swimming pools.

Willows Child Learning Center, Inc. was treated to a concert on May 19th by the amazing vocals of Nathan Maxwell of Flogging Molly and Mikey Remus of Skindred. They played songs for our pre-school, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten classes that included the works of the Beatles and Bob Marley as well as their originals such as Sash’s Song. All classes in Centennial, CO enjoyed singing along and clapping to the beat of the ukelele and guitar. Thanks for coming and sharing your talents with the kids! If you haven’t heard these guys, check them out.

As we finish all of our Spring Programs and Parent conferences, we have our sights on swimming. What a great spring. Many of you have shared your delight in all of the singing, dancing, and acting from our Pre-School, Pre Kindergarten, and Kindergarten classes. Some of you have budding actors and singers. A job well done by all!

We are now finishing our parent conferences so if you haven’t visited with your child’s teacher, call to make an appointment for pre-school, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten.

Our summer program will be starting soon! As many of you know, our summer program includes swimming. Each child will receive a swimming lesson during the morning for pre-school and pre-kindergarten and in the afternoon for the kindergarten and summer elementary program. The children are divided by ability into small groups so they can receive the skills they need to learn and perfect their swimming. Also, each child will have the opportunity to have a “free swim” time every afternoon. We use the American Red Cross swim program and have experienced instructors, many of which are former students from our program. Be sure to bring your suit, towel, some pool shoes to walk to the pool, and some sunscreen(waterproof is best) with your child’s name on everything!

Remember, we have no control over the weather. Our pools will closed for lightning and any outside air temperature below 65 degrees. Please be understanding to the staff when they make these decisions. Also we must close the pools if there is an incident in the pool such as bathroom accidents and vomiting.

We are looking forward to a great summer for all of our pre-school, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and summer elementary classes!

National Western Stockshow/Miss Rodeo America

The National Western Stockshow and Rodeo came to us today! Miss Rodeo America, Kelli Jackson, Miss Rodeo Colorado, Kasie Pigg, Miss Rodeo North Dakota, Tiffany Kuntz,Miss Rodeo Wisconsin, Amanda Breitenfeldt, and Miss rodeo Wyoming, Erin Heffron came to visit Willows Child Learning Centers today at our Arapaho-Hills Center in Littleton, CO. The ladies shared with the kindergarten and pre-school classes about how they became the Rodeo Queens and what they had to do to win the crown. They talked with the kindergarten and pre-school classes about all of the events at the Rodeo. The queens brought and talked about the importance and tradition of the cowboys clothing and equipment. We are very grateful they were able to come to us again this year. The Miss Rodeo America and Miss Rodeo Colorado have come to our schools for the last 15 years sharing and educating with our pre-school and kindergarten classes about ranch and rodeo life. Thank-you!
