Summer Elementary Program

Our summer elementary program is for children who have completed 1st grade through age 12. This 5 full day program offers a variety of activities to meet the varied interests and skill levels of energetic elementary students. Each day we have a recreational reading time, “mini-courses” which are craft classes involving sewing, wood working, cooking, jewelry, etc. and swimming lessons as well as opportunities for free play with friends. Each week we head out on a field trip such as a hike to learn about nature, biking up Waterton Canyon, the Central City Opera, or a swim meet with Willows friends from all our centers.

We also go on an overnight camping trip in July. The 2nd & 3rd graders enjoy Rocky Mountain National Park as we learn about the basics of tent camping. The 4th -6th graders enjoy either Cripple Creek(Mueller State Park), Leadville(Turquoise Lake), or Rocky Mountain National Park as we learn the history of the area as well as having a lot of fun camping with our friends.

As with all of our full day programs, all materials and craft supplies. lunches and snacks, swimming lessons, field trips, and care between 7am to 6pm are included in the tuition cost. The only additional charge is for the camping trips to help supplement the costs of admissions and extra food.
